This tour is an add-on only for Food N' Wine vacations guests who book the South America wine adventure.
Day 1: Arrival & Exploring the Brazilian Side
After arriving on an evening flight into Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, you’ll be warmly welcomed and transferred to your centrally located hotel. Enjoy a restful night, for tomorrow begins bright and early!
As dawn breaks, at 7:30 AM, our adventure begins. By starting early, you’ll beat the crowds and witness the falls in the soft morning light—a truly magical experience. We’ll pick you up from your hotel and head straight to Iguaçu National Park on the Brazilian side. A short shuttle ride through the lush rainforest brings you to the main circuit, a 1500-meter walkway offering some of the most spectacular panoramic views of Iguazu Falls. As you step onto the platform, the thunderous roar of the falls welcomes you, and mist rises in the distance, often adorned with rainbows dancing across the cascades. This early start allows you to capture stunning photos and enjoy the scenery before the crowds arrive, creating a more intimate connection with this natural wonder.
After marveling at the expansive views, we’ll continue to Parque das Aves (Bird’s Park), a lush sanctuary that’s home to a vibrant collection of tropical birds, including majestic toucans, colorful parrots, and playful flamingos. Wander through the park’s giant aviaries, where birds soar freely, offering you an up-close encounter with the region’s incredible biodiversity. This visit not only offers stunning sights but also highlights the park’s important role in rehabilitating rescued animals.
By late morning, it’s time for an adrenaline rush—the Macuco Safari Boat Ride! Hold on tight as we board a speedboat and zip along the Iguazu River, getting close enough to feel the mighty spray of the falls on your skin. The boat approaches the base of the falls, providing a thrilling, pulse-pounding perspective that few get to experience. Prepare to get drenched and exhilarated—this is adventure tourism at its finest!
For those craving an even more breathtaking view, an optional helicopter ride is available. Take to the skies and witness Iguazu Falls from above, where you’ll truly grasp the sheer scale and power of this natural wonder.
After a morning full of exploration and excitement, we break for lunch. Enjoy a buffet meal at Puerto Canoas—a picturesque restaurant offering both delicious cuisine and stunning views, nestled right inside the park.
As the afternoon turns to evening, we return you to your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu. Relax and unwind, perhaps sharing stories and photos from your incredible day, or venture into town.
Day 2: Discovering the Argentinian Side
We start early once more, with a morning pickup between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM from your hotel. Crossing the border into Argentina, we arrive at Iguazú National Park, where today’s adventure focuses on the awe-inspiring Devil’s Throat.
Unlike the expansive views of the Brazilian side, the Argentinian experience brings you right up close and personal with the falls. A scenic train ride through dense jungle leads to the Devil’s Throat walkway, a thrilling 1100-meter path that takes you right to the edge of the most dramatic section of Iguazu Falls. Here, the immense power and roar of the cascading water is truly humbling, sending up plumes of mist and creating vibrant rainbows in the sunlight. Standing here, you’ll feel the raw energy of nature—an unforgettable moment that leaves an indelible impression.
After soaking in the spectacle of Devil’s Throat, we pause for a leisurely lunch. Choose to dine at Fortin Cataratas, a charming restaurant within the park that offers delicious local dishes and stunning jungle views, or enjoy a picnic surrounded by nature’s beauty.
As the afternoon draws to a close, we make our way back to Foz do Iguaçu. Reflect on the incredible sights and experiences from the past two days as we transfer you to the airport for your return flight to Buenos Aires.
