Day 1: Group transfer, Dinner

We meet at Florence S.M.N train station at 3:00 pm for our group transfer.
If you're arriving by flight, there’s a convenient tram from Florence airport that brings you directly to the station.

As we drive past gently rolling hills, olive groves, and small towns, the magic of Tuscany begins to unfold. We’ll arrive at our villa—your home away from home—where you’ll have time to unpack and relax.

Before dinner, a member of the hosting family will welcome us with a brief, heartwarming tour of the estate, sharing the home’s rich history and personal stories.
Later, we’ll gather for our first Tuscan dinner accompanied by the estate wine—a perfect start to our unforgettable week together.

Day 2: Zumba, Nearby Village, Goat Cheese & Pasta Artisans, Cooking Class

8:00 am – Transfer to the Zumba location. We begin the day with a joyful Zumba class in a setting like no other—an atmospheric historic Italian cinema ballroom, just a short drive from the villa. With its vintage charm and cinematic character, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped onto a movie set.

Return to the villa for a delicious breakfast and time to get ready.

Our morning adventure begins with a visit to a nearby village, one that seems frozen in time, with its quiet alleys and rustic architecture—a perfect snapshot of Tuscany’s soul.

Next, we’ll head to a goat cheese farm, where you’ll hear the passionate life story of the owner and taste exquisite artisan cheeses, honey, and olive oil.

This afternoon, we’ll enjoy a fascinating visit to a family of pasta artisans. Learn how they keep tradition alive by using ancient grains and time-honored techniques to create pasta that’s authentic, wholesome, and more digestible.

Back at the villa, we’ll come together in the kitchen for a cooking class, where you’ll prepare a delicious dinner using the freshest local ingredients—Tuscan style.

Day 3: Zumba, Siena’s Contrade, Monteriggioni & Dinner

8:00 am – Transfer to the Zumba location. Another energizing Zumba class followed by Giada’s homemade breakfast and a cup of Italian coffee.

Today we visit Siena, a city that has remained virtually unchanged for over 800 years. During our guided walking tour, you’ll explore the city’s winding streets and learn about the fascinating Contrade—17 unique neighborhoods, each with its own colors, traditions, and emblems. These Contrade are the heart of Siena’s culture and come alive during the annual Palio horse race, a vibrant expression of community and pride.

After free time to enjoy lunch and soak in Siena’s energy, we’ll continue to the charming medieval village of Monteriggioni, known for its perfectly preserved walls and tranquil ambiance.

Return to the villa for a relaxing evening dinner filled with good food and great conversation.

Day 4: Coastal Charms of Cinque Terre

Today we embark on a stunning coastal adventure to the legendary Cinque Terre, five postcard-perfect villages carved into the cliffs along the Ligurian Sea.

We’ll travel by train and boat between some of the towns, offering spectacular views and the chance to wander colorful lanes, snap breathtaking photos, and simply take in the coastal magic.

Return to the villa for a quiet and cozy dinner.

Day 5: Zumba, Winery Lunch & Cooking Class

8:00 am – Transfer to the Zumba location. Our final Zumba class gets your body moving and your spirits lifted. Then it’s time for Giada’s homemade breakfast and a comforting cup of coffee.

Later, we’ll return to the villa for our second cooking class—a heartwarming, hands-on experience that brings everyone together around the table.

Day 6: Volterra, San Gimignano & Gelato Experience, Pizza Night

Today we explore the hilltop town of Volterra, rich in Etruscan history and known for its alabaster art and timeless charm. From there, we travel to San Gimignano, famous for its medieval towers and artisan boutiques.

One of today’s experiences is a visit to a gelato champion, renowned for their bold and imaginative flavors. Yes, you’ll get to taste a these award-winning creations for yourself!

FAQ about Travel Insurance

FLIGHTS

The closest airport to Tuscany is Florence (FLR). However, there are no direct flights from North America to Florence—you’ll always need to connect through another European city.

Depending on your travel plans, you may want to compare flights into Rome (FCO) versus Florence. There are more options for nonstop flights to Rome from major North American cities, which can make your journey easier.

To reach Florence from Rome, you’ll need to take a train from Rome's airport—a comfortable and scenic ride.

We're here to help every step of the way! From searching for flights to purchasing train tickets and guiding you through the process, our assistance is completely complimentary.

PRE AND POST IDEAS

We know that some travelers prefer to extend their time in Italy, and we’re here to help you make the most of it. Whether you want to explore more before the tour begins or after it ends, here are some popular options to consider:

Option A: Stay in Florence (Before or After the Tour)
You can stay an extra day in Florence. The historic center is compact and walkable, making it easy to explore. If you have more time or a special interest in art and history, consider staying for two days—Florence is home to several world-renowned museums.

Option B: Visit Rome
Rome is packed with history, culture, and unforgettable sites. We recommend spending at least three days there. The train ride between Rome and Florence takes about 1.5 hours.

Option C: Visit Venice
Venice is a unique and beautiful city worth visiting. The train ride from Florence takes around 2 hours, making it a convenient extension to your trip.

Option D: Combine Cities
You can visit all three cities—Florence, Rome, and Venice—or choose a combination based on your interests and schedule.

Option E: Back-to-Back Touring
For those who want to stay longer and explore more, we’ve created Back-to-Back Touring. These extended tour options can be found on our calendar, or you can consult with us directly to see what’s available.

We offer complimentary consulting to help plan your pre- or post-tour travels. Feel free to reach out for ideas, logistics, and assistance with transportation—we’re happy to help!

TOUR PACE

While the tour is not physically demanding, it does include daily walking—similar to a guided walking tour through a historic town. This may involve navigating cobblestone streets, steps, and occasional uphill or downhill paths at a leisurely pace.

One of the most charming aspects of Italy is its historical layout and architecture. Many towns and points of interest are located in pedestrian-only areas, where vehicles cannot enter. Exploring these beautiful places often means walking to truly experience their character and charm.

Tuscany is known for its scenic, winding roads. While they offer stunning views, they may cause motion discomfort for those sensitive to car travel. If you're prone to motion sickness, you may want to bring suitable medication.

If you have any questions or need more details about the tour pace, feel free to contact us—we’re here to help you feel comfortable and prepared!

MORE INFO

What Should I Wear?

Stay casual and comfortable. Mornings and evenings can be chilly, while the days are usually warm. Even in the height of summer, hot days can quickly turn into cool evenings. A light sweater is useful in summer, and something warmer is recommended for spring and fall.

You won’t need to dress up for any of the activities on the tour. However, if you'd like to blend in with the locals, consider "smart casual" or "preppy" for men, and "light and stylish" for women. Italians are very fashion-conscious, but not necessarily formal.

In the summer, you’ll likely want to wear shorts—just make sure they have good pockets. That said, it’s always wise to pack at least one pair of long pants.

Comfortable, flat shoes are a must, as you’ll be walking on cobblestone streets in medieval towns and unpaved roads in the countryside.

If you enjoy dressing up a little for dinner, think of it as going out to dine with friends—neat and relaxed.

How Many Bags Can I Bring?

We recommend bringing one medium-sized suitcase and one smaller bag or carry-on.

Be sure to check out our Packing Advice below!

Packing

We advise packing light and planning your outfits based on your daily itinerary. You’ll want extra space for souvenirs—you may not think about it now, but chances are you’ll want to bring home that delicious olive oil, a unique bottle of wine, local delicacies, or handcrafted ceramics.

Pro tip: Bring bubble wrap with you! It’s much cheaper and more convenient to pack it ahead of time, and you’ll likely never travel without it again.

We also highly recommend using packing cubes—they’re a game-changer for organizing your suitcase and maximizing space. You can find helpful tutorials on YouTube.

Do I Need a Passport?

Yes, a valid passport is required for international travel.

Copy of Passport

We strongly suggest making a photocopy (or taking a photo) of your passport and keeping it in a separate place from the original, just in case it’s lost or stolen.

Should I Bring My Cell Phone?

Yes, we recommend bringing your cell phone. See our Communications section below for tips on staying connected while traveling.

Do I Need Converters or Transformers?

European outlets run at 220 volts. To avoid damaging your devices, you may need a transformer for items that are not dual-voltage. This applies to many U.S.-made electronics.

Tip: Check your devices—if they say “120–240V” or similar, they are dual-voltage and can be used worldwide. In that case, you’ll only need a plug adapter, not a transformer. Please remember that a plug adapter does not convert voltage.

Money

We recommend bringing a debit or credit card from a credit union, as these often offer lower fees for ATM withdrawals and purchases abroad. Some credit cards with no or low foreign transaction fees include:

  • Capital One No Hassle Card

  • Chase Sapphire Preferred

  • Chase Ink Business Card

  • United MileagePlus

  • Barclays Arrival World

  • Amex Platinum

  • Capital One Venture Rewards

  • Bank of America Travel Rewards

  • Marriott Bonvoy

  • Southwest Rapid Rewards

  • Barclaycard Arrival Plus

  • Citi Hilton Honors

Important: Notify your bank and credit card companies of your travel dates and destination to avoid having your card declined while abroad.

Communications

It’s a good idea to bring your smartphone, but remember to turn off mobile data before your flight departs. If not disabled, your provider may charge high fees for international data use. On many phones, you can also disable data roaming, which helps avoid accidental charges.

Contact your mobile provider to ask about their international plans. Options are improving—for example, AT&T's Unlimited Plus plan allows you to use your phone in Europe for $10/day, just as you would at home.

WhatsApp is a free app that allows you to message, call, and video chat over Wi-Fi. It's widely used in Europe and is great for staying in touch without international charges. It works on both smartphones and desktop devices and offers strong privacy protections like end-to-end encryption.
